Short Summary
Blue Economy Consultant supporting the Mediterranean programme of the Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy (PBOL), working closely with the Mediterranean Director to support strategic coordination, partner engagement and regional initiatives related to highly protected Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), ocean governance and the 30×30 conservation agenda.
The consultancy focused on strengthening collaboration between conservation organisations, supporting programme implementation, facilitating stakeholder coordination and contributing to strategic discussions on marine protection across the Mediterranean region.
Key Contributions
• Served as the main coordination focal point for several PBOL Mediterranean partners and grantees during programme implementation.
• Organised and facilitated regular follow-up meetings with partner organisations to monitor project progress, identify challenges and support coordination across initiatives.
• Coordinated with organisations including MedPAN, MedFund, MedReact, WWF, Global Fishing Watch, IUCN France, Seas At Risk and Together for the Med.
• Supported strategic discussions related to highly protected Marine Protected Areas, Fisheries Restricted Areas (FRAs), marine governance and regional conservation priorities.
• Contributed to planning, coordination and follow-up activities related to the Alboran Sea Workshop held in Málaga in May 2024.
• Participated in stakeholder discussions focused on advancing marine protection, fisheries governance and 30×30 objectives in the Mediterranean.
• Supported preparation of project documentation, meeting reports, partner follow-up notes and strategic planning processes.
• Contributed to planning and coordination activities linked to international events, including the Our Ocean Conference and Mediterranean conservation initiatives.

• Supported coordination and collaboration between key marine conservation organisations working on highly protected areas in the Mediterranean.
• Contributed to regional discussions and initiatives related to marine protection, governance and the 30×30 target.
• Supported development of strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement processes across multiple Mediterranean conservation initiatives.
