Short Summary
Co-creation and coordination of an award-winning animated short film designed to raise awareness about marine conservation and the importance of well-connected Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in the Mediterranean Sea.
The initiative combined science communication, storytelling and visual media to engage broader audiences with marine conservation challenges and ocean literacy.
Key Contributions
- Co-designed the concept and script of the animated short film Zoe and Her Adventures in the Mediterranean Sea.
- Coordinated the development process together with collaborators, including communication with the animator and creative team.
- Contributed scientific content related to Marine Protected Areas, ecological connectivity and marine conservation.
- Supported outreach, dissemination and promotional activities through conferences, educational initiatives and international film festivals.
- Contributed to science communication initiatives connecting marine conservation with wider audiences.

- 1st Place — Emerging Filmmakers Competition at the Gray’s Reef Ocean Film Festival (2016).
